According to a report by Sandesh, the Bileshwar Sugar Industry, situated in Gir Somnath, is once again set to start. Sugarcane crushing in this sugar mill will officially begin on the coming November 14.
This time, the price of sugarcane for farmers has been fixed at ₹3,300 per ton for the current season by Indian Potash Limited. It is especially noteworthy that compared to last year, farmers will be paid ₹300 more per ton this year. Apart from this, an arrangement has been made to credit the money directly into the bank accounts of farmers within just 14 days of purchasing the sugarcane.
Talking about last year, this mill remained operational for only 45 days, but this year it is fully expected that the mill will remain functional for approximately 100 to 120 days. The daily capacity of this mill is to crush 2,700 to 2,800 metric tons of sugarcane. During the entire season, a grand target of crushing a total of 3 lakh metric tons of sugarcane has been set.
Earlier, more than 11,000 farmers had registered to connect with this mill and send sugarcane. Not only this, but the sugarcane of even those farmers who have not registered will be purchased by the IPL company.
At the present time, due to scanty rainfall, a serious problem of irrigation is arising. Keeping this situation in mind, a special appeal has been made to farmers to adopt the drip irrigation system. To turn farmers towards this method, a special subsidy for drip irrigation will also be provided by the IPL company.
