Youth murdered for inquiring about parents' failure to return from Saudi Arabia

A heart-wrenching incident has occurred in Jharkhand's Giridih, where a youth was allegedly brutally murdered for inquiring about the sudden disappearance of his parents. According to the police complaint, a youth named Haider Ansari was beaten and strangled to death by tour operators. This incident has created a state of high tension in the Giridih area.

According to an NDTV report, Haider Ansari was a resident of Charghara in the Herodih police station area. His parents had left for the holy Umrah pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia on 7 October. Their scheduled date of return was 24 October, but they did not return home even after that date had passed. Haider became extremely worried as his parents did not return for a long time.

Haider's parents had been sent on the pilgrimage through a madrasa run by Maulana Ilyas Ansari in exchange for ₹30,000. Haider had been repeatedly visiting this madrasa to inquire about his parents' whereabouts. On 5 November, Haider reached the madrasa with his cousin, Israfil Ansari. The incident took place in the Khorimhua area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Dhanwar police station.

In the police complaint filed by Haider's brother, Parvez Ansari, it was stated that when Haider reached the madrasa, the accused adopted a very aggressive stance. Haider told the Maulana in clear words that he would inform the police about the Maulana's suspicious activities. Hearing this, the Maulana became angry, fearing that he might face trouble due to this matter.

The complaint further stated that while Haider was returning, some accused persons stopped him near the Khorimhua Masjid and attacked him. As named in the police complaint, Sanaullah Ansari and Abid Ansari threw Haider to the ground and began strangling him. During this, Maulana Ilyas Ansari held one of Haider's legs, while Asad Ansari held the other.

In the attack, Baba Islam struck Haider on the chest, while Afzal Ansari and several other men kicked and punched him. Ultimately, Ilyas Ansari strangled him to death. The accused named in this attack include Sanaullah Ansari, Abid Ansari, Baba Islam, Afzal Ansari, Asad Ansari, Maulana Ilyas Ansari, Mohammad Adnan Ansari, and Naseem Ansari, the husband of the Gajisran Panchayat Mukhiya, along with half a dozen unknown persons.

This violent incident has sparked outrage among the people in Giridih, and protesters blocked roads in Khorimhua, leading to increased tension in the area.
