According to a Sandesh report, a special mobile application will be launched starting 1 December by the Ahmedabad-based Gujarat University to resolve students' problems related to basic amenities quickly, transparently, and through digital means.
With the launch of this app, thousands of students, researchers, and hostel residents of the university will get major relief from making unnecessary trips to the estate branch or administrative offices.
All 60 postgraduate departments (bhavans) of Gujarat University, all boys' and girls' hostel blocks, and sports complex facilities have been linked with this new application.
Students will be able to register their complaints regarding daily primary issues such as electric lights, fans, air conditioners (AC), drinking water, toilet cleanliness, leakage, or non-working lifts through this app.
Students will no longer need to write long applications. They will only have to take a live photo of the broken equipment or dirt at the respective spot and upload it on the app for accurate and prompt identification.
Separate building in-charges have been appointed for each bhavan and block to assign work to technicians after receiving complaints and to dispose of them within a stipulated time limit.
The dashboard of the entire application will operate under the direct supervision of the Vice-Chancellor of Gujarat University.
Real-time monitoring will be conducted by the Vice-Chancellor's office regarding which bhavan the complaint came from, how much time it took to take action, and how many complaints are pending.
After the complaint is resolved, the student will get a status update on the app, and a facility to give feedback will also be available to ensure transparency and accountability in the work.
