CBSE Announces Dates for 2027 Practical Examinations and Winter Vacation

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the dates for practical examinations and internal assessment for the 2026-27 session. According to a report by NDTV, these examinations are scheduled to commence from January 1, 2027, for all affiliated schools in India and abroad.

However, the Board has made separate arrangements for schools located in winter zones. Due to cold weather, there is a possibility that schools in these areas will remain closed during the month of January. Consequently, practical examinations for Class 10 and 12 students in winter zone schools will be conducted between November 9 and December 19, 2026.

The Board has provided a specific clarification for Class 10 candidates, stating that their internal assessment will be conducted only once. For this reason, all schools must enter the internal assessment marks for all candidates within the stipulated time frame.

Along with this, CBSE has also shared guidelines regarding internal assessment for schools. The Board has requested school authorities to ensure that practical examinations are completed on time in their institutions.

Schools have been asked by the Board to plan in such a manner that the internal assessment for both classes is completed and marks can be uploaded as per the prescribed schedule. It is necessary for schools to strictly adhere to the deadline in this process so that there is no delay in further proceedings.

Through this announcement, the Board has provided sufficient time for students and schools to prepare for the upcoming session, especially in areas where weather could pose an obstacle to examinations. Schools will now have to revise their academic calendars and examination planning according to this timeline.
