Northern Railway announces recruitment for 4,651 apprentice posts

Northern Railway has initiated the recruitment process to fill 4,651 apprentice positions. According to a report by Amar Ujala, eligible candidates can apply online for this recruitment. Under this process, apprentices will be appointed in various trades.

Regarding the educational qualifications for this recruitment, it has been stated that the candidate must have secured at least 50 per cent marks in the 10th standard. Additionally, completion of ITI in the relevant trade is mandatory. Candidates who fulfill both these conditions will be eligible to apply for these posts.

Providing information on the application deadline, the report stated that the application process will commence on November 11, 2026, and will continue until December 11, 2026. Candidates must submit their applications within the prescribed time limit.

An age limit has also been fixed for the candidates. The applicant must be between 15 years and 24 years of age. Youth who fall within this age bracket and possess the required qualifications can avail themselves of this opportunity.

According to the details of the selection process, candidates will not be selected through any examination but on the basis of a merit list. Subsequently, document verification of the selected candidates will be conducted, based on which the final appointment will be made.

Indian Railways was a state-run enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, which managed India's national railway system. By 2024, it was the fourth largest national railway system in the world by size, with a total track length of 1,35,207 km. With over 12 lakh employees, it was the ninth largest employer in the world and the second largest in India.
