Chaos erupts over no-confidence motion against Sarpanch in Naswadi Gram Panchayat

A state of intense chaos ensued in the Naswadi Group Gram Panchayat of Chhota Udepur district when a no-confidence motion was moved against Sarpanch Mehul Tadvi. According to a report by Sandesh, 12 members, who had previously travelled to Madhya Pradesh, moved the motion to bring about the no-confidence. As the members reached the Panchayat office before the scheduled meeting time, heated arguments broke out between the two factions.

During this dispute, an agitated crowd smashed the windows of the vehicles in which the members had arrived. The situation became so severe that even the Election Officer was stranded in the office, and some members were locked inside. The Naswadi police reached the spot and brought the situation under control after significant effort.

The reasons behind this dispute include controversies regarding the planning and utilization of development grants worth crores of rupees. Due to the commotion and the lockout, the voting process for the no-confidence motion could not be completed. There is a possibility that this dispute may escalate further in the coming time, which local residents are monitoring closely.
