Record-breaking surge in Mahindra & Mahindra's vehicle sales for October

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited has released its sales figures for the month of October, in which the company has set a new record by selling a total of 1,31,109 vehicles. According to a report by Business Standard, the company's total vehicle sales have seen an increase of 9 percent compared to last year. This record-breaking sale includes both domestic passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles.

According to Velusamy R, President of the company's Automotive Business, the company's SUV sales in the month of October stood at 73,338 units and total vehicle sales stood at 1,31,109 units, which is the highest ever sale for any month. Due to the festive season and the company's new portfolio, strong demand was seen for SUVs, pick-ups, and three-wheelers. The company's first CNG vehicle, the XUV 3XO ZNG, is also gaining immense popularity among customers.

Looking at the detailed figures, the sales of domestic passenger vehicles increased by 2 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 73,338 units. While commercial vehicle sales registered an increase of 4 percent to reach 33,037 units. In the commercial segment, sales of three-wheelers including electric vehicles saw a big jump of 38 percent, reaching 17,632 units. Sales of LCVs between 2 to 3.5 tonnes increased by 5 percent to reach 28,654 units, but sales of LCVs with a capacity of less than 2 tonnes declined by 4 percent to stand at 4,383 units. A big jump of 77 percent was also seen in the company's export sector, with the sale of 7,102 units.

On the other hand, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited has also presented strong figures for October 2026. According to a report by The Economic Times, Tata Motors' total sales increased by 23 percent to 75,426 units. The company's domestic sales increased by 21 percent, which reached 73,894 units. Significant growth was also seen in Tata Motors' international business, where this time 1,532 units were sold compared to just 161 units last year. In terms of percentage, according to a report by Amar Ujala, Tata's international sales have jumped by 852 percent.

Tata Motors' sales have also achieved major success in the field of electric vehicles (EVs). According to The Economic Times, sales of electric vehicles have jumped by 75 percent to reach 16,244 units, which indicates the growing interest of customers in sustainable alternatives. Thus, a strong demand was witnessed in the automobile market in the month of October due to the festive season.

However, according to a report by Amar Ujala, right now only the figures of Tata Motors have come out and the passenger vehicle (PV) sales figures of all other companies have not come out yet. Therefore, it would be too early to decide which company had the highest passenger vehicle sales in the month of October. As sales reports of other auto companies come in, the complete picture of October will become clear. Currently, since the figures of Tata Motors have come out, it is not appropriate to directly compare with other companies and call any one company the brand with the highest sales.
