Main road from Bhilad to Maroli in dilapidated condition, plagued by dust

In Valsad district, the main road starting from Bhilad National Highway number 48, passing through Bhilad market, Sarigam bypass three-way junction, GIDC Nargol four-way junction, and Manda-Sarai four-way junction, up to Maroli village, is in an extremely poor condition. According to a report by Sandesh, layers of dust and mud have accumulated on both sides of the road following the monsoon, causing immense hardship to motorists, pedestrians, students, workers, and traders.

The dust kicked up by passing vehicles is causing breathing difficulties for people and is adversely affecting health. Additionally, the accumulation of dust in nearby shops is damaging the goods and food items of traders. With upcoming festivals such as Diwali, Chhath Puja, and Jalaram Jayanti, vehicle traffic on the road is expected to increase.

To resolve this issue, representatives including the Deputy Sarpanch of Sarigam Gram Panchayat, Valsad District Panchayat member Nutan Bhandari, and Umargam Taluka Panchayat opposition leader Rakesh K. Rai, have submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Executive Engineer of the Vapi sub-division. They have demanded immediate cleaning of the road, water sprinkling, and repair of the road by filling potholes through asphalt patchwork.
