Gujarat State Petronet Limited (GSPL) Transmission Limited is planning a capital expenditure (capex) of approximately ₹3,500 crore to expand its gas pipeline network in Gujarat over the next 2 to 3 years. According to a report by Businessline, around 10 pipeline and connectivity projects spanning approximately 700 km will be undertaken under this programme.
The company's management stated, "We will lay new and loop lines connecting existing entry and exit points. Additionally, we will cover new geographical areas in Gujarat."
This expansion will increase the capacity of GSPL Transmission's high-pressure pipeline grid. The current capacity of 36-37 mscmd, as determined by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB), will increase to approximately 44 million standard cubic metres per day (mscmd). This will result in an increase of nearly 20% in the grid's rated transmission capacity.
The company has clarified that this investment will be primarily funded through internal accruals, cash balances, and operating cash flow. According to a report by DeshGujarat, this plan will be implemented.
