Taking note of complaints from passengers ordering food online during railway travel, IRCTC has launched a major campaign. The organisation has initiated strict action against 14 unauthorised e-catering websites and mobile applications that compromise food quality.
According to a report by Sandesh, this step has been taken to ensure the health of passengers, food quality, and the security of their personal data. IRCTC has clarified that ordering food through these unauthorised platforms carries the risk of receiving food from outlets without FSSAI licences, which could be harmful to health.
The organisation has released a list of prohibited platforms, which includes RailRestro, RailMitra, TravelKhana, TrainsCafe, DibRail, ailFood, ravelerFood, FoodOnTrack, eCatering App, KhanaOnline, Trainway, RailMeal and TrainMenu. Passengers have been appealed to avoid using these platforms while ordering food.
As several questions have been raised regarding the quality of food available on these platforms, IRCTC has advised passengers to stay away from these websites and apps henceforth.
