Traffic problems escalate near Maninagar railway station due to lack of AMTS bus parking

Traffic problems are continuously increasing in the busy Maninagar railway station area of Ahmedabad due to the unavailability of sufficient parking space for AMTS buses. According to a report by Sandesh, in the absence of parking or a proper terminal arrangement, bus drivers and authorities are forced to park buses in lines near properties or on the main road outside the station.

A large portion of the road remains blocked because of this, leaving very little space for the movement of vehicles. The main road outside Maninagar station is already congested with vehicles; in addition to the lines of buses, haphazardly parked vehicles, roadside stalls, and crowds of pedestrians lead to traffic jam situations for hours.

Thousands of passengers commute through the station daily, who have to suffer the nuisance of traffic as soon as they exit the station. Due to these traffic jams, passengers rushing to catch trains often miss their trains. There is heavy resentment among local traders, passengers, and motorists regarding this matter. People state that if concrete planning is not implemented soon by the AMTS administration and traffic police, the difficulties will continue to increase.

AMTS is a public transport service under the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation that provides bus services in various areas of the city.
