Eight-year-old girl raped and murdered in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh

According to a report by Hindustan Times, an incident has come to light where an eight-year-old girl was raped and murdered in the Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh. A man known to the victim's family lured the girl outside her home on Friday with the promise of feeding her golgappas and committed this heinous crime.

The incident took place in the Industrial Area police station jurisdiction, roughly 30 km from the district headquarters. The accused, Ravi Kashyap, worked at the same factory as the girl's father and both families lived on rent in the same building. The girl went missing on Friday afternoon. When she did not return, the family launched a search and informed the police.

According to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Abhishek Pratap Ajay, upon receiving the information, the police immediately launched a search operation. During this, at around 2:00 am on Saturday night, the girl's body was recovered from a deserted plot located 500 metres from the house, bearing injury marks on her head. After sexually assaulting the girl, the accused struck her head with an iron rod, killed her and fled from the spot.

Based on the complaint received at the Sikandrabad police station, a case has been registered under sections 103(1) (murder) and 238 (causing disappearance of evidence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The victim's family, natives of Budaun district, performed the girl's last rites in their native place after the post-mortem.

ASP Abhishek Pratap Ajay stated that the police have launched raids to apprehend the accused, who is a resident of Tarian village under the Chhibramau police station limits of Kannauj district. In this matter, the police have also questioned the accused's wife and are conducting further investigation into the entire sequence of events.
