Two members of a gang that swindled ₹1.27 crore from about 100 investors in the name of giving high returns in the stock market in Ahmedabad have been arrested by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW). Bhargav Pandya and Alkeshpuri Goswami have been arrested by the police.
According to a TV9 Gujarati report, the accused lured people through a company named 'Discipline T & T Ventures Private Limited'. They assured investors that their money would triple in two years and they would receive 2 to 2.5 percent return every month. Falling for this lure, approximately 100 people invested a total of ₹1.27 crore.
Investigation revealed that the accused had formed 6 different companies to carry out financial transactions and used about 235 bank accounts. The arrested accused Bhargav Pandya and Alkeshpuri Goswami are friends. Alkeshpuri Goswami works in the Air Force, while Bhargav Pandya has studied up to MA and is associated with an investment firm.
In this case, a complaint has been registered against Virat Parmar, Alkeshpuri Goswami, Bhargav Pandya, and Dharmesh Chauhan. Dharmesh Chauhan was arrested earlier on October 9, who serves as a Sergeant in the accounts department at the Air Force in Chiloda. The accused named Virat Parmar is still absconding and is a resident of Ahmedabad.
Bhargav Pandya and Dharmesh Chauhan knew each other from before and had also studied together. It has also been learned that Bhargav Pandya had lost approximately ₹8 crore in betting. Apart from this, it has come to light that a complaint regarding a ₹3 crore fraud in Adalaj was also registered against the accused earlier. The accused were also working in Vadodara and Gandhinagar, and the company was shut down from the year 2025.
Currently, the entire financial transaction is being investigated by the EOW Crime Branch. The investigation is ongoing to find out where the investors' money was used and whether anyone else is involved in this scam. At the same time, the police are taking action to catch the absconding Virat Parmar.
