Under the 'Viksit Maharashtra 2047' campaign, the Maharashtra government has arranged a special package of ₹160 crore in the 2026-27 budget for the holistic development of tribal communities. The primary objective of this fund is the upliftment of tribal tribes such as Katkari, Kolam, and Madia, as well as the Pardhi community. To implement this package, the state government has also issued a Government Resolution (GR) on 2 November 2026.
According to the detailed breakdown of the allocation, out of this total ₹160 crore package, ₹130 crore has been reserved for tribal tribes and ₹30 crore for the Pardhi community. The ₹130 crore portion for tribal tribes will be further divided into two parts, with ₹100 crore allocated for basic infrastructure and ₹30 crore for individual and collective benefit schemes. Similarly, out of the ₹30 crore for the Pardhi community, ₹10 crore has been allocated for basic infrastructure and ₹20 crore for individual and collective benefit schemes. Under these schemes, the government will provide a 100% grant for individual and collective benefits.
As per the rules for the implementation of the schemes, a minimum grant of ₹50,000 will be provided for individual schemes, while collective schemes with two or more beneficiaries can receive assistance up to a maximum of ₹7.5 lakh. According to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), if beneficiaries are unable to pay their own share while availing schemes from other departments, the Tribal Development Department will provide that amount. Additionally, special encouragement will be given to forming women's Self-Help Groups (SHGs) for women's empowerment, so they can undertake collective enterprises and economically empower their families. Such groups will be provided a grant of up to ₹7.5 lakh.
This fund will also be used to conduct awareness campaigns and special camps. Through these camps, essential documents such as Aadhaar cards, voter ID cards, ration cards, caste certificates, MGNREGA job cards, Ayushman cards, and bank accounts will be provided. Special attention will also be given to the health sector, which includes health check-up camps, visits by Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, and nurses, health education, and providing benefits of government health schemes.
In the field of education, steps will also be taken to increase student attendance and bring out-of-school children into the mainstream. Residential camps will be organized in Ashram schools during the summer for children of families with such tendencies. The overall objective of this entire process is to improve the standard of living of the tribal community.
The Maharashtra government manages development works in various sectors of the state and implements various social and economic schemes through the budget.
