Telangana Housing MD orders approval of 2,000 Indiramma houses in every assembly constituency

V.P. Gautam, Managing Director of the Telangana Housing Corporation, has instructed housing department officials to complete the approval process for 2,000 Indiramma houses per assembly constituency under the second phase of the scheme within one week. In this process, priority will be given specifically to people living in slums.

These important directives were issued during a meeting held in Hyderabad on Monday, November 2, 2026, with district project directors and deputy engineers. V.P. Gautam stated that due to the success of the first phase of the housing project, people are now eagerly awaiting the second phase. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on various issues such as the selection process for beneficiaries, remedies for delays in bill clearance, and awareness regarding convenient cement bags provided by the government.

According to a report by The Hindu, approximately 3.3 lakh houses were approved under the first phase of this scheme, of which construction work for nearly 2 lakh houses has been completed. MD Gautam clarified that it is imperative to strictly follow the guidelines issued by the state government for the selection of beneficiaries living in slums. Furthermore, officials have been instructed to allocate houses in coordination with the district in-charge ministers and public representatives.

Responsibility has also been assigned to create awareness among the people regarding the facility established by the government for beneficiaries to purchase cement at lower prices. Additionally, to reduce delays in receiving bills, project directors have been asked to inform people about the option of online self-uploading photos of the houses, so that the administrative process can be expedited.
