The India Today Group has announced its international platform, 'Kisan Tak Bharat Agriculture Conference 2026', with the aim of bringing a revolution to the agricultural sector. This historic summit will be held on November 11 and 12, 2026, at the prestigious 'Bharat Mandapam' in New Delhi. The event will feature in-depth discussions on Indian agriculture, farmers' issues, their successes, and various challenges associated with farming. This will be the first and unique platform of its kind for farmers at Bharat Mandapam, as Delhi's largest hall, which typically hosts major industrial conferences, will be filled with the farming community this time.
Presented by Mahindra Tractors and Mahadhan Agritech, the main resolution of this two-day mega-event is "Smart Kisan, Viksit Bharat". The Union Ministry of Agriculture and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) will play the role of collaborators in this conference. Ambassadors from various countries, heads of international agricultural organisations, and ministers from several government departments will be present at the event.
Approximately 2,000 farmers from every corner of the country will participate in this grand organisation. In addition to panel discussions, the two-day summit will also feature cultural programmes showcasing glimpses of rural India. Along with this, inspiring stories of leading farmers, women entrepreneurs, agricultural economists, and researchers who have brought change to rural India through the combination of traditional knowledge and modern technology will be presented. The specialty of this event is that the original protagonists of these stories, who have been honoured with the Padma Shri by the Government of India, will be present to tell their own stories. This includes farmers such as Padma Shri Rahibai Soma Popere, Trinity Sayu, Nekram Sharma, Sultan Singh, and Sundaram Varma.
The event will also be rich in entertainment and art. Along with a presentation by renowned folk singer Padma Shri Prahlad Tapaniya, poet Rudra Pratap Rudra and Bhojpuri singer Chandan Tiwari will also showcase their art. Additionally, renowned actor, singer, and Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari will also grace the event with his presence.
The significance of this organisation is high as 46% of the country's total workforce is directly dependent on agriculture and allied activities. According to the Government of India's Economic Survey 2025-26, the country's total foodgrain production in 2024-25 is estimated to be 357.73 million tonnes. The main objective of this mega-summit is to explore how to create a more secure livelihood, higher profits, and new global opportunities for farmers by utilizing this vast production capacity.
On this historic announcement, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated, 'This Bharat Agriculture Conference by India Today and Kisan Tak is a new roadmap for collective prosperity for the country's food providers.' He further added that the real foundation of the Prime Minister's resolution of 'Viksit Bharat 2047' is our 'Smart Kisan' and 'Agricultural Health'. According to Shivraj Singh Chouhan, smart farming does not only mean modern technology, but keeping our land healthy for the long term and increasing farmers' income by reducing their costs. He praised the initiative of Kisan Tak by the India Today Group to make farmers smart and said that only when farming becomes healthy and the farmer's income becomes strong will India truly become developed and self-reliant. In today's time, when new changes are coming to the agricultural sector, this kind of global Kumbh will provide a new direction for farmers. According to the report, this event will prove to be the largest and most historic organisation in the history of Indian agriculture.
