According to a report by Sportstar, the fifth edition of the Prime Volleyball League (PVL) will begin on November 30 at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex in Ahmedabad. In the first match of the league, the host team Ahmedabad Defenders will play against Chennai Blitz.
Ahmedabad Defenders will play their second match against Calicut Heroes on December 1. On the other hand, last year's champion team, Bengaluru Torpedoes, will begin their campaign on December 3 against Kolkata Thunderbolts.
The tournament will continue until December 23, with a total of 10 teams participating. These teams include Ahmedabad Defenders, Bengaluru Torpedoes, Calicut Heroes, Chennai Blitz, Delhi Toofans, Goa Guardians, Kochi Blue Spikers, Kolkata Thunderbolts, Mumbai Matadors, and Telugu Black Hawks.
The semi-finals of the league will be played on December 21, with the first match starting at 6:30 pm and the second match at 8:30 pm. The tournament final will be held on December 23 at 6:30 pm. The entire competition will be broadcast live on Sony Sports Network and YouTube.
This is the first time that Ahmedabad is hosting the competition. This year, the International Volleyball Federation has recognised the Prime Volleyball League as India's first division professional volleyball league, following which this fifth edition has been organised.
Last year, Bengaluru Torpedoes won their first title by defeating Mumbai Matadors in the final. Head coach David Lee, who helped Bengaluru secure the title last season, will continue to lead the team in the 2026 edition as well.
