Famous Mumbai actor Amitabh Bachchan's residence in Mumbai has once again received a bomb threat, police said on Friday. According to an NDTV report, this new threatening email was sent targeting the actor's Juhu-based bungalow named 'Jalsa'.
According to information provided by police officials, this email was not limited only to Amitabh Bachchan's house, but was also sent directly to the Bombay High Court and the Mahalaxmi Racecourse. After receiving this threat, the police immediately conducted intensive searches at all three sensitive locations: Amitabh Bachchan's bungalow 'Jalsa', the Bombay High Court, and the Mahalaxmi Racecourse. However, during the detailed inspection and search operation, the police did not find any suspicious object or material at any of these places.
Keeping this serious matter in mind, security officials have initiated an intensive investigation to verify the authenticity of the message, trace its source, and identify the unknown person or sender who sent this email. It is noteworthy that prior to this, Amitabh Bachchan had received a similar threatening email on October 23 last.
In that previous email, which was also sent to Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde and Deputy Mayor Sanjay Ghadi, a warning was given about a grenade attack on a school on October 31. Not only that, that email also threatened to target Amitabh Bachchan's Juhu-based house between October 31 and November 27.
References regarding 'Khalistan' were also cited in that earlier email, and it was also claimed that an attack would take place during singer Diljit Dosanjh's concert scheduled for November 27 in the Mahalaxmi Racecourse area.
Due to the threats received earlier, keeping thieves and security arrangements in mind, the 84-year-old actor had to take a major step regarding meeting fans coming to his residence. Following this threat, Amitabh Bachchan was forced to greet his fans on Sunday by standing behind bulletproof glass outside his bungalow.
When the actor came out on Sunday according to his regular routine of interacting with fans gathering around his bungalow, he was seen waving to fans standing behind a transparent bulletproof shell installed on a raised platform. When he appeared outside his house, his son and actor Abhishek Bachchan along with a large number of security personnel were also seen surrounding him.
