A common dispute over parking took a horrific turn in Faridabad, Haryana, where a neighbour opened indiscriminate fire on another neighbour, killing him. The deceased, Paramjit Dhankar, a senior tech business executive, was shot 15 times with a licensed pistol by his neighbour. According to the police, Paramjit Dhankar sustained 9 bullet wounds, leading to his death at the scene.
According to an NDTV report, the entire incident occurred on Friday night in a multi-story building located in Sector 21C of Faridabad. Paramjit Dhankar resided on the first floor of house number 641 in the building with his wife, son, and daughter. Originally a resident of Hisar, he lived in Singapore for work. He had returned to Faridabad from Singapore just two days prior to attend his nephew's wedding scheduled for November 24.
Providing details of the incident, Surajkund Station House Officer (SHO) Prahlad Kumar told reporters that Paramjit Dhankar returned home from the gym at around 8 pm. Upon reaching the building's parking area, he noticed that the car of Mohan alias Monu Sharma was parked in his designated parking spot. Monu Sharma resided on the third floor of the same building. Paramjit asked Monu Sharma to move his car, which triggered a heated argument between the two.
As the argument escalated, Monu Sharma produced his licensed pistol and began firing at Paramjit. According to the police, Monu fired a total of 15 rounds, 9 of which hit Paramjit. After the shooting, the accused Mohan alias Monu Sharma fled the scene with his family.
During the investigation, police learned that differences had been persisting between the two families for the past few days. Surya, Paramjit Dhankar's son, had raised objections to this several times. Arguments had broken out between the two parties 4 to 5 days before the shooting over this issue, although the situation had calmed down at that time.
Upon receiving information about the incident, police, Crime Branch personnel, and a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory reached the spot. During the investigation, police recovered several empty cartridges from the parking area. The police are currently searching for the absconding accused and his family.
