A branch manager of a private bank created a ruckus under the influence of alcohol in the posh areas of Gurukul and Vastrapur in Ahmedabad. According to a report by Sandesh, this Axis Bank branch manager, in a heavily intoxicated state, took out his Activa and, instead of driving it, dragged the vehicle along the road over a long distance from the Gurukul area to the Doordarshan Kendra Metro Station.
Due to these strange and irresponsible actions of the drunken driver, the lives of pedestrians and other motorists passing by on the road were put at risk. People in the vicinity were startled by the friction and noise caused by dragging the vehicle on the road, leading to chaos on the street.
Seeing this scene, alert citizens and pedestrians present there gathered. Showing courage, the people surrounded the intoxicated driver and pulled him off the Activa. Subsequently, the enraged crowd immediately informed the police about the incident.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a team from the Vastrapur Police Station reached the spot immediately. The police took the drunken bank manager into custody and brought him to the police station. The police have initiated plans to take strict action by registering a legal case against the manager for drink-and-drive and creating a nuisance in a public place under intoxication.
