Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to obtain feedback from students regarding the uniforms being distributed to them. He has also directed that special attention be paid to the colours and designs while purchasing uniforms in the future. The Chief Minister gave these important instructions on Wednesday during a review meeting on the distribution of uniforms and skill kits to beneficiaries of government hostels, residential schools, and government schools under various departments.
According to a report by The Hindu, the Chief Minister noted that the uniforms provided this year were of much better quality compared to previous years and utilised more attractive colours and designs. However, he emphasised that it is necessary to take feedback from students regarding the selected colours and designs, so that future uniforms can better reflect the preferences of most students.
During the review meeting, officials informed the Chief Minister that the distribution of uniforms and other essential items for students is almost complete. These items include ties, belts, identity cards, shoes, socks, plates, glasses, bowls, carpets, and school bags. Officials further stated that in some institutions, the distribution of certain items has reached almost 95%. Upon hearing this information, Revanth Reddy instructed the officials to ensure that the remaining distribution is completed at the earliest.
Regarding preparations for the upcoming academic year, the Chief Minister directed officials to prepare a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the procurement and distribution of uniforms and other student supplies. He said that this SOP should cover every stage, from finalising the list of items to tendering, procurement, supply, and distribution, and strict timelines should be set for the completion of every task.
Emphasising timely distribution, Revanth Reddy asked the officials to prepare an action plan from now, so that all uniforms and student kits are available on the very first day when the new academic year begins and schools reopen. Present at this review meeting were MP Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Minister's Principal Secretary N. Sridhar, Special Chief Secretary (Welfare) Sabyasachi Ghosh, Principal Secretary of Tribal Welfare and Backward Classes Welfare Rahul Bojja, and other senior officials, including Shafiullah, Balamaya Devi, Vijayendra Boyi, Divya Devarajan, G. Ravi, B. Saidulu, B.M. Santosh, Navin Nicholas, and Sita Lakshmi.
A. Revanth Reddy is serving as the Chief Minister of Telangana. He has been playing the role of overseeing various administrative and welfare activities of the state.
