Two 17-year-old female students sexually exploited during party in Balanagar

A serious incident of sexual exploitation of two 17-year-old female students during a party on the night of 1 October in Hyderabad's Balanagar has come to light. The police have registered a case against two youths under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and have initiated an investigation.

According to a report by The Hindu, the accused have been identified as 19-year-old Ganesh, alias Ghana, and 26-year-old Tarun, who is married. Ganesh was in a relationship with one of the victim students and had invited her to the party. The student had also brought one of her friends along.

As per Madhura Nagar Police Inspector H. Prabhakar, after taking both students to the spot, the youths made them drink alcohol and subsequently sexually exploited them. During this, both students had consumed one beer each. Following the incident, one student's health deteriorated and she was taken to the hospital, where suspicion of sexual exploitation arose.

When the students were interrogated, they narrated the incident that had occurred with them. Subsequently, their statements were recorded at the Bharosa Kendra. In connection with this incident, the students were admitted to a hospital in Madhura Nagar. Thereafter, they contacted the Madhura Nagar police and filed a complaint, based on which the case was registered.

Currently, the investigation of this case is underway and, based on jurisdiction, the case will be handed over to the Balanagar police.
