Due to the potential risk posed to pilgrim movement in Tirumala by Cyclone Murasu, strict security measures have been taken by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). According to a report by The Hindu, TTD Additional Executive Officer C. Venkaiah Chowdary on Monday instructed officials to increase precautionary measures to ensure pilgrims receive darshan without any hindrance and their safety is maintained.
C. Venkaiah Chowdary gave these important directives during a review meeting with officials from various departments at the Sudharma Meeting Hall in Tirumala. He emphasised that all departments must make coordinated efforts to prevent any disruptions caused by rain. It is necessary to ensure that pilgrims do not face any kind of difficulty while waiting for darshan or receiving essential facilities.
Officials have been instructed to expedite darshan arrangements and ensure that queue lines remain within the designated premises, so that pilgrims do not have to stand in the open during the rain. Additionally, orders have been given to set up tarpaulin shelters where necessary to ensure there is no interruption in the distribution of Annaprasadam.
The Engineering and Electrical departments have received strict instructions to maintain a continuous power supply. Special emphasis has been placed on maintaining vigilance on the ghat roads and paying particular attention to areas where there is a fear of stones or large rocks falling. Special care will also be taken regarding the health of pilgrims. Medical staff have been directed to remain alert and provide immediate assistance to devotees who may slip or get injured due to the rain.
Emphasising inter-departmental coordination among all departments, C. Venkaiah Chowdary said that all wings of TTD must work together. The main objective of these efforts is to protect the pilgrims, facilitate easy darshan for them, and ensure they can return to their destinations safely.
