Gold and Silver Prices Decline on Dhanteras, Nifty Crosses 25,000 Mark

A significant surge was witnessed in the Indian stock market during the final trading session of Samvat 2082. According to a report by India Today, there was a bullish trend in the benchmark equity indices, leading the Nifty to reclaim the 25,000 mark and the Sensex to cross the 80,000 points level. Both indices closed at their session highs.

On the other hand, a notable correction was seen in the bullion market on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras, with prices of gold and silver declining. This drop in prices led to heavy purchasing by customers at retail jewellery hubs. A massive influx of customers was particularly observed in Mumbai's Zaveri Bazaar.

Market analysts shared their views regarding investment strategies for the upcoming Samvat 2083. Gaurang Shah of Geojit Investments and Navin Mathur of Anand Rathi advised investors to invest in equity and precious metals in a phased manner to balance risks.

Globally renowned investor Jim Rogers reaffirmed his long-term bullish outlook on gold and silver. He explicitly stated that he would never sell his holdings. Furthermore, he described the recent decline in silver prices as an attractive opportunity for investment.

In the corporate sector, Mahindra & Mahindra has revised its domestic tractor industry volume guidance for the financial year, keeping it 'flat'. The company cited insufficient monsoon rains, low water levels in reservoirs, and drought conditions observed in key agricultural regions as the primary reasons behind this decision.

Thus, while the rally in the stock market and the decline in precious metal prices sparked enthusiasm among investors and consumers, companies linked to the agricultural sector had to lower their targets due to natural factors. Market experts are advocating for cautious and balanced investment in the coming year to protect against market volatility.
