The Shankheshwar Civil Court in Patan district has delivered a significant judgment in a cheque return case, sentencing the accused to one year of simple imprisonment. According to a report by Sandesh, the case was filed by Bhikhabhai Revabhai Solanki, a resident of Kunvard village in Shankheshwar taluka, against Bhavikkumar Virambhai Patel, a resident of Mithivavdi and a friend of his son.
According to the details of the incident, Bhavikkumar had borrowed ₹3,00,000 from Bhikhabhai Solanki for business requirements. When the money was not returned even after the stipulated period expired, Bhikhabhai presented a cheque of ₹3 lakh from the Patan branch of DHI Mehsana Urban Co-op Bank Ltd. in the bank, which was returned on 30/09/2024.
In this regard, the complainant filed a complaint in the Shankheshwar Court through advocate D.C. Raval. During the hearing, taking into account the strong evidence presented by the prosecution, the court sentenced Bhavikkumar to one year of simple imprisonment. Along with this, the court has ordered that the accused must pay the cheque amount of ₹3,00,000 within one month. If the accused fails to pay the amount within the prescribed time limit, he will have to undergo a further three months of simple imprisonment.
