Class 9 student jumps into canal after being scolded for studies

A highly tragic incident has emerged in Karnal, Haryana, where a 15-year-old student studying in Class 9 has attempted suicide by jumping into a canal. According to an India Today report, this incident occurred when his elder brother scolded him to focus on his studies. Following this minor argument, the teenager left the house in a fit of anger and ran straight towards the canal. All efforts by family members and locals to stop him proved futile.

According to the details of the incident, the elder brother of this teenager, named Prince, Sonu, had asked him to study. The family states that there was no major fight in the house, only a normal discussion regarding studies. Sonu stated that he had gone to get medicine for his wife and after returning home, he asked his wife to serve food to Prince. However, Prince showed willingness to bring the food himself. What happened suddenly after that, no one could understand, but Prince left the house in anger. Neighbors informed the family after seeing him running towards the canal.

Sonu immediately ran after him and even tried to catch him near the canal railing. There was a scuffle between the two, but Prince slipped from his brother's grip and jumped into the canal water. After this incident, the police and a team of divers were informed. The team that reached the spot immediately started the search, but no success was achieved until late at night. The search operation was resumed from Wednesday morning, yet there is no trace of Prince.

Family members have alleged that no divers or police personnel were present at the spot at the time of the incident, which caused a delay in the search. Prince's relatives and family members have appealed to the district administration to expedite the search operation. The family believes that there was no such serious problem in the house that would cause Prince to take such an extreme step. Police investigating officer Vikram Walia and Prince's brother-in-law Tejpal have also joined the investigation in this matter.

Karnal is an important city in the state of Haryana, known for its historical significance and agricultural sector. There are many irrigation canals in this area, which are used for farming. In the past as well, accidents and other incidents have been reported in these canals. A wave of mourning has spread across the entire area due to this incident and family members are praying for Prince to be found safe.
