Woman, who secretly returned to India from UK, found dead in Pune

A 34-year-old woman, who secretly returned to India from the UK without informing her family, has been found dead in a rented apartment in Pune. The family came to know about the death of this woman named Mugdha Deshmukh through food delivery transactions, based on which the police launched an investigation and reached Pune.

According to an NDTV report, Mugdha Deshmukh was originally from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. She had gone to the UK in July last year to pursue an MBA. She lived alone there and also did part-time jobs. Mugdha's family members were constantly in touch with her through phone calls and messages, but from October 24 she stopped contacting the family and thereafter her phone was also switched off.

After the family became worried, they contacted one of Mugdha's friends living in London. That friend stated that the last conversation with Mugdha happened via message on October 22. Thereafter, that friend contacted the London police and reported Mugdha missing. However, the London police informed the friend that Mugdha had left the UK around the end of the month of August.

Mugdha's family members contacted Indian authorities and the Indian High Commission to seek help in finding her. Meanwhile, when Mugdha's father checked her bank statement, an important detail came to light. Between October 8 and 25, there were many food delivery transactions. Some of these transactions were from the Osmanpura area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. From these details, the family became certain that Mugdha was in India only.

As per the fact to be noted, according to a report by The Times of India, when the family came to know that Mugdha had returned to India, they contacted the police for further investigation. In the investigation conducted by the police, Mugdha's location was found in the Lodha Belmondo complex located in the Gahunje area of Pune.

According to Shirgaon police (Pimpri Chinchwad) Senior Inspector Devendra Chavan, Mugdha's location was traced in the Lodha Belmondo complex by the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar police. When the police reached the flat where she was living, entry into the flat was gained with the help of a locksmith and Mugdha's body was found inside.
