The Patan Compensation Tribunal has ordered the payment of a total compensation of ₹28.80 lakh to two biological brothers injured in a road accident. According to a report by Sandesh, this accident occurred in January 2024.
Mangalaram Tejaram Bhil and Rameshkumar Tejaram Bhil, originally from Rajasthan and residing in Vinchhiwadi, Dhanera, were travelling towards Dhanera market on a bike. At that time, a Swift car coming from the opposite direction hit them. In this incident, the bike rider Mangalaram suffered a serious injury to his right leg, due to which the part below the knee had to be amputated. Meanwhile, the pillion rider Rameshkumar sustained serious injuries to the head.
After examining all the evidence, the court held the driver of the Swift car completely negligent. The Tribunal has ordered the payment of ₹20.93 lakh to Mangalaram and ₹7.87 lakh to Rameshkumar. The responsibility to pay this amount, along with 9 percent interest from the date of filing the application and court expenses, has been jointly assigned to the car owner and the insurance company.
