According to a report from PIB Ahmedabad, a ‘Viksit Bharat Yuva Samvad’ programme was organised by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Valsad, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, at Rajju Shroff Rofel University, Vapi. The primary objective of this programme was to connect the youth with the democratic process, create awareness about the importance of voting, and facilitate a direct dialogue between them and public representatives.
On this occasion, District Panchayat President Smt. Hetalben Patel, Vapi Municipal Corporation Mayor Smt. Dakshaben Patel, Dharampur MLA Shri Arvindbhai Patel, District Education Officer Dr. Rajeshri Tandel, and District Youth Officer Ayush Chaudhary were present as chief guests.
A session titled ‘Yuva Samvad – Know Your Vote’ was organised during the programme. In this, the youth discussed democracy and voting openly with the public representatives. The youth asked important questions such as the power of their vote, the method of selecting the right representative, the impact of voting on the country's development, and the role of youth in democracy.
In response, the public representatives emphasised the right to vote, responsibility, impartial voting, and alert citizenship. They urged the youth to vote using their discretion without any pressure or greed and to make other citizens aware as well. Through this dialogue, the youth understood that in a democracy, not only voting but continuous participation as an alert citizen is necessary.
A large number of students, volunteers, and youth participated enthusiastically in this programme organised by Mera Yuva Bharat, Valsad, in collaboration with the university.
