39-year-old man dies after loan recovery agents kick him from motorcycle

A 39-year-old man has died after being kicked from a moving motorcycle by loan recovery agents in the Nelamangala area of Bengaluru. The incident occurred while agents of a finance company were attempting to seize a vehicle due to unpaid loan instalments.

According to a report by The Hindu, the deceased was identified as Murali, a resident of T. Begur in Nelamangala taluk. Due to serious injuries sustained in the accident, he passed away late on the night of Saturday, 31 October, 2026, at Bengaluru's Victoria Hospital.

As per the complaint, the incident took place on 28 October while Murali was travelling from Nelamangala towards his native village. Near Budihalu, three agents attempted to stop his motorcycle. It is reported that Murali told the agents he would stop the vehicle further ahead and then continued his journey. However, the agents chased him and kicked the moving motorcycle, causing Murali to lose control and be thrown onto the road. He sustained serious injuries in the accident.

Murali's wife, Lalitha, immediately rushed him to Victoria Hospital for treatment. Notably, Murali was already suffering from kidney disease. Both his kidneys had failed, and he was undergoing regular dialysis. Complications arose during treatment due to the injuries sustained in the accident and his existing frail physical condition, ultimately leading to his death on Saturday night.

Lalitha and other family members have blamed the loan recovery agents directly for her husband's death and have demanded strict action against the individuals involved. Nelamangala Rural Police have registered a case in this matter. A special team has been formed by the police to locate and arrest the three accused agents.
