Under the joint auspices of the District Women and Child Development Officer's office, Kutch, and the Kutch Women Welfare Centre, the ‘Panji Dhi Panji Shan’ programme was organised at the Kutch Women Welfare Centre in Bhuj as part of the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign.
The programme was organised with the objective of increasing the pride of daughters in society, encouraging girl child education, and bringing a positive change in the social mindset towards daughters.
At the beginning of the programme, families having only one daughter, as well as families who have adopted and raised orphaned girls, were honoured. Their noble sentiments were lauded.
The main attraction of the programme was ‘Dinner with Ladli’. Families consisting only of daughters enjoyed a meal sitting with their daughters. Various entertaining games were organised to increase intimacy between daughters and parents and to help them understand each other better. Families participated with great enthusiasm.
Daughters gave beautiful performances. Participant Ayushiben Palne presented Ganesh Vandana, while little Nayasa Bhat recited Hanuman Chalisa.
Kutch-Morbi Member of Parliament Vinodbhai Chavda sent a message of good wishes while praising the programme. Connecting via telephone, he encouraged and extended his best wishes to the daughters and parents present for the bright future of the girls.
Child Welfare Committee Chairman Ritaben, committee members, Kutch Women Welfare Centre President Kamlaben Vyas, and executive members were present at the programme. Shrimati Bhavnaben Garvaliya conducted the programme. The District Women and Child Development Officer's team took responsibility to make the programme a success.
