A special court in Delhi on Thursday reserved its order regarding the framing of charges against 14 accused involved in the NEET-UG paper leak case. Special Judge Ajay Gupta informed that the court will pronounce its decision on this subject on November 18.
According to a report by Amar Ujala, 14 accused have been named by the CBI in this case. To investigate this case, the CBI had registered a case in May 2026. Earlier in the month of July, the CBI had filed a chargesheet against 13 accused. Subsequently, a supplementary chargesheet was filed against the 14th accused, Sheshrao Bajrang Suryavanshi.
According to a Business Standard report, the 14th accused, Sheshrao Bajrang Suryavanshi alias Raj Suryavanshi, is a resident of Nanded, Maharashtra, who was arrested on September 2. This court is currently conducting speedy trials of cases related to "criminal cases arising from paper leaks and the use of other unfair practices in public examinations."
The court took cognizance of the main chargesheet in August 2026. The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET-UG exam is conducted by the NTA for students aspiring to secure admission in the medical field.
Regarding the background of this matter, it has been stated that due to apprehensions of paper leaks, the NTA cancelled the NEET-UG exam held on May 3 on May 12. Subsequently, this exam was re-conducted on June 21.
