The Food Safety Department team in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, carried out a major operation by raiding a factory manufacturing cream illegally. During this operation, the department destroyed approximately 500 kg of adulterated and fake cream on the spot. The market value of this seized stock has been revealed to be approximately ₹1.10 lakh. With the festive season approaching, the department has taken a stern stance against those playing with the health of the people.
According to an Aaj Tak report, this surprise operation was conducted under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner of Food Safety, Chandrashekhar Mishra. The raids were carried out at Jai Nagar's cream manufacturing unit located in the Sheikhpur Kuchesar Chopla area of Hapur. This entire operation was executed under the orders of the Food Safety and Drug Administration of Uttar Pradesh and the instructions of the District Magistrate. During the raid, it was found that fake cream was being produced in this factory in a very hazardous manner.
Investigation revealed that instead of using milk, this unit was preparing fake cream by mixing vegetable oil, refined oil, skimmed milk powder, and curd. Upon receiving information about this illegal business that was seriously compromising health, the department immediately shut down the operations of this unit. The Food Safety Department team has taken three samples from this unit, which have been sent to the laboratory for further investigation.
Chief Food Safety Officer Pankaj, Food Safety Officers Mohit, Saharish Sadat, and Vipin, along with other officials, participated in this operation. After raiding the factory, the team also visited Chhatnaura village. A milk sample was taken from the Pahalwan Dairy located there. Additionally, samples of milk, cream, and paneer were collected from Amit Dairy and sent for testing. Assistant Commissioner Chandrashekhar Mishra has clarified that strict action will be taken against the guilty according to the law once the lab reports of the samples taken from all locations are received.
Such intensive inspections are being conducted by the department to prevent adulteration in food items during the festive season. Due to these raids, there is a sense of panic among the adulterators in the area. Department officials stated that no person playing with the health of the people will be spared and such inspections will continue in the coming days.
It is noteworthy that the Food Safety and Drug Administration is an important department of the Uttar Pradesh state government, which oversees the quality and safety of food items across the state. The main function of this department is to prevent adulteration in food items and ensure that consumers receive pure food products. In the past as well, this department has taken strict action several times against units manufacturing fake milk, mawa, and other dairy products in various areas of the state. Officials of this department regularly inspect markets and production units and take suspicious samples for scientific testing, so that public health is protected.
