A National Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Meet was organized under the Vidyanjali program by the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), Ministry of Education, Government of India, in Gurugram, Haryana. The main objective of this meet is to strengthen collaboration between the government, corporate bodies, states, union territories, and implementing agencies for the transformation of school education.
An important part of this event was the CSR-State interaction, which brought together representatives of corporate bodies, state nodal officers, DoSEL, Programme Management Unit (PMU), and National Informatics Centre (NIC). This dialogue provided an opportunity to explore avenues of collaboration, enhance networking between CSR organizations and states, and discuss potential projects according to the needs of schools.
During the meet, various states and union territories presented their experiences and initiatives under Vidyanjali. Andhra Pradesh gave a presentation on the implementation of Vidyanjali, Karnataka on the adoption of schools, Mizoram on the role of community participation, and Delhi on the new innovations and related activities under the program.
Implementing agencies such as ChildFund India, SARD India, Inspiring Seniors Foundation, and ETI Foundation shared their experiences and perspectives on aiding CSR engagement and school development through Vidyanjali. In the technical sessions, representatives from leading corporate organizations such as State Bank of India (SBI) and Bharti Airtel provided information on their contributions to school education. They emphasized the role of corporate partnerships in strengthening school resources and improving the educational environment.
Vidyanjali is an initiative of DoSEL aimed at strengthening government and government-aided schools through community and private sector infrastructural collaboration. It provides a digital platform that connects schools with volunteers, organizations, and CSR partners to contribute in the form of services, activities, and assets. Its CSR framework includes a CSR module and an Adopt-a-School module.
Archana Sharma Awasthy, Additional Secretary of DoSEL, Economic Adviser A. Srijja, and other senior officials of the ministry were present on the occasion.
