Administration undertakes mega demolition drive in Assam

According to a report by NDTV, a large-scale eviction drive was carried out in Assam's Dhubri district. During this operation, the district administration removed 750 families from 650 bighas of land. All these families had allegedly occupied government land and established their settlements in the Alamganj Ninth Block area for many years. This major action was taken to remove these illegal constructions and settlements.

Approximately 60 excavators were deployed to execute this demolition drive. In addition, a large police force was also deployed to oversee the entire operation and maintain law and order. During this important drive, Inspector General of Law and Order of Assam Police Akhilesh Kumar Singh, Dhubri District Commissioner Dibakar Nath and Senior Superintendent of Police Debashish Bora were present at the spot and inspected the entire situation.

During this administrative action, bulldozers were also run over various mosques, places of worship and graveyards. Due to the action of demolishing these mosques and religious sites, a tense situation prevailed in the area. During the action, local residents registered their protest and also raised anti-government slogans.

During this operation, an atmosphere of grief and mourning was witnessed at the mazars and graveyards. Hundreds of people gathered there and offered prayers with deep emotion. A unique incident also took place during this. When an excavator machine was about to demolish a mazar, the machine suddenly stopped and ceased functioning. At this very moment, the operator running the machine suddenly fell ill. Due to deteriorating health, that ailing operator was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment. Regarding this entire incident, many discussions also began at the local level. Due to this action by the administration to clear government land, strict police security has been deployed in the entire area so that the law and order situation does not go out of control.
