Prime Minister to inaugurate Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav Global Convention on October 23

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav Global Convention at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on October 23, 2026, at 11 AM. He will also address the gathering present on this occasion.

More than 9,000 participants from India and abroad will gather for this three-day convention, to be held from October 23 to 25, 2026. This event marks the culmination of the year-long celebrations commemorating the completion of 75 years of Chinmaya Mission. Swami Chinmayananda founded the global spiritual movement known as Chinmaya Mission in 1951 to disseminate the knowledge of Vedanta and the Bhagavad Gita to all. Over the decades, the Mission has expanded its work into spiritual education, cultural preservation, youth empowerment, and community service.

The year-long celebrations commenced last year at Gangaikonda Cholapuram in Tamil Nadu. There, the Prime Minister released the Tamil poetic translation of the Bhagavad Gita prepared by Chinmaya Mission, set to the music of Ilaiyaraaja. Throughout this year, several initiatives and programs have been organized, including mass Havans at various locations, the Pran Pratishtha of Maa Soundarya Chinmayi Temple in Tripura, and ‘Chinmaya Gita Samarpanam’. Under this initiative, more than 1 lakh people worldwide recited the 15th chapter of the Bhagavad Gita online simultaneously.

One of the key initiatives of the celebrations was ‘Gita Panchamrit’, which focused on five selected verses of the Bhagavad Gita. To spread the message of the Gita across the country, 15 youth members of the Chinmaya Yuva Kendra undertook the ‘Chinmaya Amrit Yatra’. During this journey, they traveled more than 40,000 kilometres across the country.
